¡Buenos dias, Mis Amores! It is I, Rogelio, your host for this year's Locura de Marzo contest of photographs.

It is amazing how I, Rogelio, am able to inspire members of the club to ride their bicycles and take photographs. Apparently I inspire in people feelings they didn't know they have!

Here is rider André Hamel, who lives in a very frio place: Quebec city, in the place of Cañada. He lives where there is nieve y die, so he must ride indoors. But ride he does! And now, inspired by me, he also takes photos ... indoors.

Buenos dias senor Rogelio!

I am a DBC member living in Quebec city, Canada and it's actually my 3rd March Madness.

Unfortunately this year I will not ride in lovely Davis in March and winter is still very harsh in northeast.

So I must ride my stationnary bike inside. I simulate a 30 minutes climb of the Cantalow andI record 6 miles after each session.

I've been lucky to enjoy one single day in March so far during wich temp was approx 20F, breezybut (almost) dry streets that allowed me to ride for 13 miles outdoor on my cyclocross bike.

This picture shows me at the exact moment I reach my modest 125 miles goal today !

These are smalls numbers but I must work hard to get them done !

A local person who says she is a cyclist sent these photos today. She does not ride a bicycle in any photo, but my friend Eric says she used to ride un poquito. So here they are, from Señora Deb Banks.

Sorry to have been away so long. Work on my new telenovela is very, very hard. Being this handsome does not come easily? Well, easy for me, but the others have to work at it, and just watching them makes me tired.

So, my friend Eric offered these photos from a ride which he did in a place called Portland, which he said is in Orego'n. I think that is in the Estados Unidos, but I'm not sure.

I enjoy thinking about bicycle riding. Riding bicycles, not so much.

It is now the 8th day of Marzo, and I hope that the inspiration provided by me, Rogelio, has resulted in many fine photographs! 

If you are in need of further inspiración, here are two photos taken by Eric, whose work on the annual photo contest I am doing this year.

You Are My Paparazzi!

This is how I am accustomed to seeing fotógrafos -- always trying to get the perfect picture of my hermoso rostro. (Hint: Any picture of me is perfecto!)

But for Marzo, I am asking you to photograph other things ... like bicycles and the paisages around Davis. Take your cameras with you while you ride and send in your photos for the concorso. (Hint: Photos with me in them are sure to win!)

The most amazing thing happened to me yesterday! I learned that there are people who have not seen my featured, starring role in the telenovela, "Jane the Virgin." How sad that there are people who have not yet enjoyed my looks, my acting, and my good looks. (Did I mention good looks twice? How funny!)

 

So, here is a short video in which I am portrayed by the actor Jaime Hamil. He explains what I, the star of Jane the Virgin, am all about:

Las Reglas (The Rules)

¡Buenos dias, Mis Amores! Once again, it is I, Rogelio, your host for this year's Locura de Marzo contest of photographs. I am writing at the end of a long dia which included much thinking about life, my good looks, and the concurso. 

The last thinking, of course, was done at the request of Eric, whose pathetic pleading convinced me to be the face of this year's contest. ("Please, Rogelio, I'm training for Paris Brest Paris! I don't have time, and I need help with the contest!" I have not idea what this Paris ride is, but his crying and sobbing were too much for even I to stand.)

So, Eric asked me to come up with las categories for the contest. Here is what I thought of:

• Most handsome photo of a male bike rider (I thought of this one first!)

• Most beautiful photo of a female bike rider

• Most beautiful photograph of a bicycle of either sexo (Do they have sexes? Rogelio does not know)

March Madness Photo Contest 2015: La Locura de Marzo!!

¡Buenos dias, Mis Amores! It is I, Rogelio, your host for this year's concurso de fotografía for the March Madness bicycle riding. You may know me from my starring role in the television spectacular, "Jane the Virgin," or from my many other televisión and película appearances. My face is permanently etched in the memorias of millones of fans.

Eric has asked me to host the contest this year. I don't know much about bicycling (although I know it involves becoming sweaty and smelling bad), but I hope that these images of my hermosa rostro will inspire the best fotografías ever!
